BrainToast's News

Coming Soon to the Flash Portal - BrainToast's AS3 Triple Tutorial Pack (AS3 Tut Pack 1). It features the first 3 tutorials put into one (not including the yet to be updated tutorial that I spoke about in the last post). It should be available January 20th, 2009 (Barack Obama's Inaguration!).

Now Available - BrainToast's AS3 rClick Menu Tut, a sequel to BrainToast's AS3 Custom Cursor Tutand AS3 Button Tut. The next AS3 Tutorial (also has explained actionscript) is Keyboard Movements for a movie clip. I have completed a test file and instead of posting a Tutorial, I'll tell the tips next to the file for the first time in Flash Tutorial History. No one has ever made what I'm going to make in Keyboard Movement Tutorial (AS3 Key Movement Tut). Releasing today @ 3p or later (possibly tomorrow if I need to take another nap because I'm still sick). After that, I'll probably release GTA Red Car, Cleanse -TEST 1-, or a Madness Combat Tribute.

EDIT: I have chosen to make a Madness Combat Tribute. The tribute is called "I Have a Dream". It's about Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speech "I Have a Dream". MLK (Martin Luther King/Milk) was a great man. Now we take on what his speech from 47 years ago was about by converting characters into Madness. Including an ending featuring Martin Luther King, Jr. during the assassination (the way I think it went).

Now Available - AS3 Custom Cursor Tut which is a sequel to AS3 Button Tut. The next tutorial will be right-click menu releasing at 3a (if I'm not asleep and/or waiting for Barack Obama to say Martin Luther King's speech). My next submission to the flash portal is a game test. The gameplay is similar to Alien Hominid's gameplay (Flash version not console version).

I am a bit sick and took a 2 hour nap. That delayed skate: Flash Version. Anyway, I am announcing the sequel to AS3 Button Tut will be AS3 Cursor Tut. If you just wanna see the actionscript (without explanation) now, here it is (on frame):
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUS E_MOVE , movecrs);
function movecrs(event:MouseEvent) {
cursor.x = mouseX;
cursor.y = mouseY;
cursor.visible = true;
Mouse.hide();
}

You have to figure out how to do this. For an explained actionscript with animation, check out the AS3 Cursor Tut tomorrow.

I have seen many skateboarding flash games but have not yet seen skate (by EA) in complete flash form. 1 game that was pretty good was converted into a flash game, Portal (converted into a flash game called Portal: The Flash Version). I would like to be the second person to make a full flash clone for 1 great game or game series into the same name (not to be confused with GTA clones with different names, I mean a game with the same name with Flash Version in it's name). Please Wait for the game's release. I hope to be working on it with jk4eyes (sounds), X-Labs, and lastingfun.

I just put on an AS3 tutorial on how to make buttons and also selected my icon and image today. Look out for AS2 tutorials with enabled work for Flash 7+ instead of Flash CS3+. AS3 Button Tut requires Flash Player 9 or higher, Adobe Flash CS3 or higher, and a working computer to use. The ending actionscript is not just copy and pastable, but also editable by making the AS copy and paste an input text box.

AS3 Text Box Tip:

You cannot use Variables on Text Boxes in Actionscript 3 unless they are on the frame.

I am officially announcing GTA Red Car. A trailer was confirmed and the link to the song is here:

GTA 4 Theme

I don't have the link for the GTA Red Car theme but I will show you the creator in the Audio/Music section of the post. GTA Red Car is releasing today. A sequel will also come probably today by the name of GTA Red Car 2: The Jump & Fall. Rockstar's Credits are given in the description.

I AM BRAINTOAST!

My first flash animation = AS3 Calculator. I hope my first ever flash on NG passes judgement. I have made flash before and never have I posted a game on the Portal. Enjoy and use it for any Math Problem.

~~Notes~~
0-9 are allowed in text boxes, A-Z are not
Press Buttons to use them as the sign.

This took me a full 2hrs:25mins (It would've been 2:20 if I didn't go to the bathroom).
I sad at my computer until the answers were right and there were no Syntax Errors or Export SWF errors. As you might notice, there is only one frame in the game.

Today's INFO: I joined yesterday and it took about 20 minutes for my confirmation email to arrive so I just went to sleep, after school my confirmation email was there. BrainToast will live on and so will the upcoming games made in both Actionscript 2.0 (E.g. Crate Escape II: The Return) and Actionscript 3.0 (Coming Soon - Crate Escape: The Beginning).

Once again hope it passes Judgement.
BT OUT!
