BrainToast's News

Posted by BrainToast - February 18th, 2009

Hey Guys! Some good news is now being made true.

Setting = ChestWood (fictional state similar to Liberty City's new rendition)
Main Character = Gary Robinson

The story and first three missions (summary) for the game:

After finding out that this guy who Gary Robinson owes money to is alive, Gary goes to Francis International to check a plane to ChestWood but didn't expect what happens next. A bunch of robbers come to get all the money paid for trips and to catch a plane to Asia. The cops come and set up a bunch of rocket launchers. This is where the game begins. You are told to leave the airport but when you do, you notice you left your briefcase of half-a-million dollars back past the police line. You turn around and find $1000 there as the case is opened. You take it and leave. When you get outside, the next cutscene begins as the cops rush outside and bring a guy to the Liberty City Police Department (the beginning of the game's setting). The gameplay continues. You must hi-jack a helicopter and fly to CWPD. When you get there, the first thing you do when you get there is check-in to a hotel. Mission Passed! and you lose $100 for checking to the hotel. The hotel room is on floor #4. It's room 301 (first door to the left). To continue the game, you must take a nap. When you wake up, somebody calls you. He tells you to come down to the alley outside the hotel (seen in the cutscene where Gary runs to the hotel). This begins the second mission. Before leaving the hotel room, Francis (your friend) calls you to inform you of the guy you're meeting. He tells you to come down to his house where he has a pistol ready for you. You are now told to go to his house. You can either drive there, walk there, or take a cab. Your helicopter was destroyed when you landed so don't even think of trying your copter. I decided to drive there with this van I stole. After so, you get to train with your pistol (similar GTA: San Andreas). You go back to the alley and meet with the guy. When you get there, you find two large men waiting for you. They come after you like crazy. After you defeat them with your pistol, you call the guy back. NO ANSWER! You call Francis and he tells you "I told you. This guy is after you." You say "I wonder why! He's one of the robbers from the airport. I recognized his voice. I was the one who called the cops on 'em." Francis: "Hmm...Meet me at the Resotorial Enteree." Mission Passed! +Francis (picture of contact here), Pistol Acquired (it actually shows a picture of the pistol then Acquired!). You have a choice of either taking a nap or going straight to Francis. Doesn't matter but if you decided to cause havoc with your remaining bullets in your pistol then napping may be the smart thing to do. I head down to Resotorial Enteree and Francis told me to find a guy named Gorge whose on the second floor of the hotel you check into. After taking out the guy, you leave to collect your cash. Mission Passed! +$200, +20 9mm (pistol) ammo.

The reason I am telling you this is because the first demo of the game will let you play the first three missions along with the trailer for the game (you don't have to finish the demo to view the trailer, just click trailer in the main menu).

Check out this image from the opening cutscene (first frame of the game).

P.S. Since this is a video game screen, the name was 18223502.gif (and a .jpg version).

Hope you're here for more information and more screenshots on ChestWood Hood.

EDIT: Created with four seperate layers (layer called sign reading "Francis International", briefcase, ground, and table.

More Information on CW Hood...

Because my ChestWood Hood game test engine was blammed for no reason (it had 1.43/5.00 and 7/10), I am postponing CW Hood until Feb. 2010 unless I speak otherwise. Don't believe the first trailer or video when it comes out and says "Coming November 2009". For anybody who was waiting (psychicpebble and lastingfun), you will get the game emailed to you in November 2009.

PsychicPebble must PM me his email address so that I may email updates, tests, demos, and more. Lastingfun will receive the same, I have his email address.

As for everyone else, stay away from Newgrounds...To Be Continued...

Okay. I told you about the game yesterday and thought I'd tell you the 10 weapons I've already created for the game. There will be more so don't stop waiting for the game. The weapons are:

*Carbine Rifle
*Uzi
*Pistol
*Combat Pistol
*Fist
*Combat Sniper
*RPG
*Molotov
*Bat
*Knife

As you can see, all these weapons (besides Fists) can be viewed from the GTA4.NET Website. These are the ones in the test engine releasing today @ 8p ET:
*Fist
*Carbine Rifle
*Uzi

Also, the pick-ups from the game that I have created already are:
*Armour
*Health

And, since this is a GTA Clone (at least GTA), I have to create special collectibles. For this game, you must find Police Badges. After collecting them all, you are then given access to police officer clothing in your wardrobe which get you away from getting stars. Well, that's enough to reveal for today. Take a gander at this image of me collecting my 1st badge.

New Weapons!

Over the weekend, I decided to start working on a game. This game cannot be promised for it's release date yet. I know it'll release before next year. At the time, it's my main project. My sports project has failed. My actionscript has failed to work. I will get back to that project some time soon though. The current game I'm now working on is called ChestWood Hood. ChestWood Hood is a GTA clone meaning it's rating goes from T on Newgrounds to M if it were rated by the ESRB. I plan to release an exclusive trailer for ChestWood Hood tomorrow. So far, the player has nearly 80 lines of code. More weapons = more actions. Each weapon creates over 10 lines of code. Inside the player are even more actions. They make up over 105 lines of code for the player. I am working on a test game engine for all of you to play. The test has lots of lines for code. Lastly, BrainToast Games has been renamed to Second Chance.

REMINDER: Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned releases in <4 hours (2.17.09 @ 3a EST on XBLive). It costs 1600 Microsoft Points ($19.99).

REMINDER2: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Trailer this week! The newsletter has announced this week as to GTAGaming telling lies about it happening last week. Along with so, the official website will be up.

Reason for reminders: I'm talking about a GTA Clone, might as well talk about GTA's main games.

During my abcense...

I spent 20 minutes working on some new images and my user banner. You may notice it displays the main people that make up the studios which are:
"BrainToast" - Mainest
"lastingfun" - Programming/Small Amount of Art and Ideas
"jk4eyes" - Music/Audio

The BrainToast Studios Logo's and Images

Forgot to tell you all that jk4eyes has joined us here at BrainToast Studios. He is now given credit as "Crew" for everything that I make. Sometimes he may be credited as "Other" "Author" or something because he's done those things. Other times, he may not be credited as anything.

I hope that jk4eyes can also give me credit as Crew and whatever things for any of his submissions.

Welcome to the crew man.

Welcome to the Crew!

Hey Guys! I forgot to say that last night, I went to Wal-Mart and they finally had what I wanted. I got skate 2 but let's start at the beginning. Oh yeah, Incase you're wondering I did have skate. but it was one to borrow from my cousin. I had it for a week. I got it last Saturday and gave it back on Saturday. Now skate 2 is for keeps, it's mine (and my brother's but I'm two thirds of it and he's one third of the pay a.k.a. I payed 40-50 (45) and he payed 20-30 (20)).

Yesterday, I went to Wal-Mart after dinner. After so, I went and found the game (skate 2 for X360). When I got out of Wal-Mart with the payed for game, I checked the box for anything and you won't believe what wasn't there...THE DISC! Luckily, I hadn't gotten home yet so I turned around and told the motherfuckers that my disc wasn't there. I was able to get a new copy and 1600 Microsoft Points for Grand Theft Auto IV: Lost and Damned and before exiting, I was allowed access to checking the game box in the store. This time, not only was the disc in there but the main reason why I'd open the box (for disc scratches) had been solved. There were absolutely no scratches or marks on the back of this copy. The game was real incase you're wondering. So I when I got home, I used one of my 2 48-Hour Gold Membership cards (I have 2 because before I brought back the first one w/out the disc, I removed the first gold membership card.) Well if you were reading this then pm me this code w/out quotes "LLL0LO13-FfadY79-0UIO-54321VBC". You'll get access to my new biggest project/ game's official website.

And remember: GTA IV Lost and Damned is next week. My Xbox Live name is XLR83000 (and so is my name on my DS). I am getting Lost and Damned (I have 1600 points) and I'm signing off.

Flash Video Player is complete but I still need 5 comments (2 from 2 more people excluding the following: lastingfun, ReFreezed, and glbracer but slayer1983 must comment twice). Braintoast.org is nearly done and I am beginning work on something bigger then Braintoast.org. Braintoast.org will have updating versions so don't be pissed with what is shown of the flash. I don't wanna say anything about my bigger project yet besides the fact that it needs both vcam 2 and as2. It is a sports game. That's all I'm revealing right now because this game needs to progress before I reveal you some information on the game. Oops, I just announced it was a game (you probably would've guessed that anyway). Okay guys, I'm done with giving out one-word information on this game and you may now see me giving brief info on this game...BRIEFLY.

Hey Guys! I am now officially announcing my next project. It's a website created in flash. It will be posted here on Newgrounds. It's called braintoast.org (not real that's what the flash is called). It will be awesome. I will not show any screenshots and will not have any demos. I plan to release new versions every few months. BrainToast.org launching sometime soon right here on NEWGROUNDS! Sponsored by Newgrounds.
